Here's what American Quilter's Society says about Patchwork 4 Ways.
Master just four simple blocks and you're on your way to an endless variety of quilt designs! Use one or a combination of blocks to make these 16 charming quilts, culminating in the stunning Cabins in the Stars quilt using all four blocks. It's never been easier! Just seven simple square and rectangular shapes make up the four basic blocks. You see triangles, but there aren't any to cut or sew! Complete yardage and cutting instructions are given for multiple sizes for the 17 different quilts along with easy-to-follow, step-by-step illustrations. Want to design your own block? Kathleen provides a conversion chart and worksheet so figuring your own yardage is a snap.
My name is Kathleen Hulett, although I am also called Kathy, Kath, Mom and Grandma. I have enjoyed handcrafting since childhood, beginning with sewing doll clothes on my little toy sewing machine. I began piecing fabric scraps into my first bed-sized quilt before I learned anything about rotary cutting or chain piecing. That quilt now adorns a queen-sized bed. My basement living area has been converted into a quilting studio where 2–4 machines and two cutting boards are in use almost every Friday morning when my quilting group meets. I do not consider myself to be an expert, by any means. In fact, our quilt group is named, "The Nobody's Perfect Quilt Group," with the motto being, "As ye sew, so shall ye rip!" I'm sure that I have much yet to learn about quilting. I hope that what I have learned so far and share with you in “Patchwork 4 Ways” will help you in your enjoyment of quilting.
